Holly AI Trades Smarter Every Night
Holly is Trade Ideas' proprietary AI trading assistant, built to deliver real-time intraday stock signals to premium subscribers. She backtests and optimises over 60 strategies every night, then selects only those with the highest statistical probability of success for the following session. Holly generates between 5 and 25 trades per day and closes all positions before the market closes.
Traders can get 15% off a new Trade Ideas Holly AI subscription or upgrade to Premium using the promo code ENDA15 after visiting the official Holly AI page.
Overnight Backtesting and Optimisation
Holly runs through every strategy in her portfolio each night, testing and refining each parameter. If a price range or filter underperforms in a backtest, she removes it, retests, and continues until the strategy is performing optimally. The full cycle completes within a few hours.
Real-Time Trade Signals
Each signal includes a complete entry price, stop loss, and profit target. Traders can monitor Holly's entries and exits live through the AI Strategy Trades Window as they happen throughout the session.
Over 60 Curated Strategies
Holly's strategy library covers long and short setups across a wide range of market conditions, including momentum plays, pullback entries, opening range breakouts, gap fades, and mean reversion ideas. All parameters are proprietary and are not customisable.
Three Distinct Segments
Holly is divided into three segments: Holly Grail, Holly 2.0, and Neo. Each employs a different set of strategies. Users can switch between segments from the right-click menu within the AI Strategy Window.
Reentry Logic
If Holly's stop is hit and the stock recovers to the midpoint between the stop price and the original entry, she will re-enter the trade. Reentries are treated as separate trades and do not affect the profit and loss of the initial position.
Long-Term Strategy Trades Window
The Premium AI Long Term Strategy Trades Window tracks the continued performance of Holly's intraday signals beyond the initial session, giving swing traders access to multi-day setups derived from her daily selections.
Holly backtests all of her strategies every night after the market closes. She goes through each one individually, optimising every parameter until it performs at its best in the backtest.
After completing the overnight optimisation process, Holly analyses overall market conditions. She then selects only the strategies with the highest statistical probability of delivering profitable trades for the upcoming session.
The strategies she selects appear each morning in the AI Strategy Window. On average, she enters between 5 and 25 trades per day based on the conditions she encounters during the session.
Holly's long-side strategies cover a broad range of setups, from early morning breakouts to end-of-day strength plays.
Momentum and Breakout
Strategies such as Staggering Volume, Float On, and Breakout target stocks crossing above resistance on elevated volume. Sunrise Mover and Early Bird are designed for the first 45 minutes of the session.
Pullback Entries
Quarterback, Strong Stock Pulling Back, and Bullish Pullback all use a 25% pullback from intraday highs as the trigger to go long on stocks already showing relative strength.
Gap and Reversal
Horseshoe Up targets gap-up stocks that partially fill the gap before resuming higher. The Vault and Looking for a Bounce focus on oversold conditions and support-level entries.
Pattern-Based
Yesterday Hammer Today Strength uses the prior day's hammer candle as a directional signal. Pulling the Arrow Back identifies late-day buyer rejection to confirm the following day's direction.
Momentum Shorts
Bon Shorty and Bon Shorty 2.0 target stocks breaking down from resistance while already weak on the day. Slippery Slope uses a new 5-minute low on stocks showing multi-timeframe weakness.
Fade Setups
Topping Formation fades an overbought 5-day high on lower-priced stocks. Knocking on Resistance shorts stocks breaking out of the opening range directly into a resistance level.
Market-Condition Shorts
Downward Momentum requires the S&P 500 to be negative in the trailing 15 minutes before triggering. Selling Strength targets stocks above $20 when the broader market is not positive.
Pattern-Based Shorts
Bear/Bull Trap identifies the classic trap pattern where a stock barely breaks yesterday's high before reversing. Failed Bounce looks for buyer rejection in yesterday's session to confirm continued selling the following day.
Mean Reversion
Balloon Under Water, Revision to the Mean Long, and Snap Back Long/Short all look for stocks that have drifted from fair value and are showing signs of reverting.
Trend Continuation
Trend Play and Trend Play Short use a proprietary moving average ribbon to identify stocks in a confirmed intraday and daily trend. The Continuation targets stocks with two consecutive up days making a new 30-minute high.
The AI Strategy Window lists all the strategies Holly has selected for the current trading day. Filter dropdowns allow users to view active or inactive strategies and toggle between long and short setups. The Profit and Loss graph displays cumulative daily performance based on the configured AI Risk Size.
All trades Holly executes during the session appear here in real time. The entire row flashes when a new trade is entered. Users can filter by open or closed positions, long or short trades, and profitable or losing trades.
Sound notifications can be configured to alert traders to new entries via beep, chime, or text-to-speech. The text-to-speech option calls out each triggering stock symbol aloud, with a verbose mode that includes additional trade details.
This window displays thumbnail charts for Holly's intraday signals that have continued to move in the direction of the original trade beyond the close. Each thumbnail shows the trade direction, original entry price, current price, signal price, total dollar and percentage change, and the number of profitable days since entry.
By default, Holly calculates profit and loss figures based on 100 shares per trade. This can be adjusted under Tools, Options, then AI Trade Size.
Four sizing methods are available:
Dollars - Enter a dollar amount and Holly calculates share size based on the current stock price.
Shares - Set a fixed number of shares for every trade regardless of price.
Risk - Enter a maximum risk amount per trade. Holly sizes shares based on the distance between entry and stop.
Default - Fixed at 100 shares per trade.
Traders can monitor Holly's signals in the AI Strategy Trades Window and place orders directly in their own broker platform. This approach suits brokers not connected to the Brokerage Plus module. Sound alerts notify traders when a new entry triggers, allowing them to review the chart and parameters before deciding whether to follow the trade.
The Brokerage Plus module allows traders to send orders directly from the AI Strategy Trades Window to participating brokers or the built-in simulator. Right-click any symbol in the trades window, select Trade XYZ, then apply a preset order entry template or a custom strategy with personalised stops and targets. Executed trades appear in the Positions Tab where stops, targets, and share size can all be modified.
Traders can also place orders directly from Trade Ideas charts using the Buy and Sell chart buttons. By default, a market order worth $5,000 in shares is submitted, with a stop loss at the low of day for long trades and the high of day for short trades. The order routes directly to the connected broker or simulator.
Click the Brokerage Plus Sim button in the toolbar to connect immediately to the Trade Ideas real-time simulator. No additional configuration is required. The simulator runs in live market conditions, making it suitable for testing strategies before going live.
Requires an IB Pro account. In Trader Workstation, enable ActiveX and Socket Clients, disable Read-Only API, and set the socket port to 7496 for live accounts or 7497 for paper trading. Connect from within the Brokerage Plus module by selecting Interactive Brokers - Connect and entering Client ID 0 or 1. IB Lite accounts are not compatible.
Open the Brokerage Plus module and select ETrade - Connect. This opens the ETrade login page in a browser. Log in, accept the connection, copy the 6-digit code provided, and paste it into the Trade Ideas connection field. A paid ETrade data plan is required for the exchanges you intend to trade.
New traders can use Holly as a practical learning resource by observing her entries, stops, and targets in real time. Monitoring which strategies she selects each morning, and how they perform throughout the session, builds an understanding of market conditions without requiring prior experience.
Holly's risk mode performance data provides an additional layer of market intelligence. When moderate risk mode outperforms conservative, it signals a trending environment where holding trades longer is justified. When conservative outperforms, it indicates choppy conditions that favour quick profit-taking.
Holly closes all intraday positions at end of day, but the trade catalysts behind her signals do not expire at the close. Swing traders can use the Long Term Strategy Trades Window alongside symbol lists and price alerts to build a watchlist of stocks with multi-day potential from Holly's daily selections.
Holly's strategies and parameters are not customisable by users.
Holly is an intraday trader and does not hold positions overnight by default.
Access to the full Holly feature set requires a Trade Ideas premium subscription.
Brokerage Plus integration is limited to Interactive Brokers and ETrade.
IB Lite accounts are not supported for API-based brokerage connections.
